With Gwalarn Celtic Whisky and Kornog Single Malt, the spirits producer WALDEMAR BEHN takes over the distribution of further French premium spirits from Maison Villevert. In an innovative way combined with artisan tradition, the Celtic Whisky Distillery on the Breton coast produces exceptional whiskies with Celtic roots and French soul.

Pioneer of French whisky
Celtic Whisky Distillery was founded in 1997 by two whisky connoisseurs and enthusiasts, Jean and Martine Donnay, in the heart of the Trégor region on the north coast of Brittany. Their mission: to create whiskies of uncompromising quality and authenticity. In 2020, the Donnay family handed over the Celtic Whisky distillery to Maison Villevert. Building on over twenty years of experience, know-how and the special location, the team around Jean-Sébastien Robicquet, founder of Maison Villevert, has set itself the goal of continuing to be a pioneer and global reference for French whisky. In the meantime, the Celtic Whisky Distillery has become one of the best-known distilleries in France. The climate and the special location, only a few metres from the sea, give the whiskies their unique identity. Whiskies with Celtic roots and French soul are produced there in the purest artisanal tradition.

Kornog Single Malt
Kornog Whisky is a single malt with a distinct peaty character. On the nose, it presents a bouquet of aromas ranging from lemon peel to beeswax, enhanced with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the smoky aroma blends harmoniously with the flavours of fruits and mild spices such as ginger and white pepper. Kornog is a unique whisky from France, matured in selected bourbon casks in coastal stowage warehouses exposed to the salty sea winds, giving it its maritime character.

Gwalarn Celtic Whisky Blend
Gwalarn is the world's first premium Celtic blend. The blend's uniqueness is created by the complexity of a Scotch whisky combined with the character of a German whisky and the finesse of the in-house single malts. Slowly reduced with water from the in-house spring, Gwalarn displays salty nuances that combine with flavours of peat, grain, vanilla as well as ripe fruit.
