New winning beer: Belgian Blonde Ale now available

In September 2024, Florian Nahrwold from Hamburg became the new German hobby brewing champion. His interpretation of a Belgian Blonde Ale won over the expert jury back then - and has now been brewed and bottled by Störtebeker Braumanufaktur.

Golden yellow, with balanced aromas of yellow fruit and spices and a pleasant full-bodied taste: fans of Belgian beers can look forward to a new addition to the Störtebeker range of specialty beers. The new Belgian Blonde Ale - winner of the German Hobby Brewers' Championship 2024 - is now available as a limited-edition creation. The recipe for this comes from hobby brewer Florian Nahrwold from Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. As a reward for his victory in mid-December, he was allowed to brew the Belgian Blonde Ale on a large scale together with the Störtebeker brewers - from malt grinding to hop addition, he lent a hand. “It really was a unique experience to be able to brew the beer on this scale in Stralsund,” reports the master hobby brewer. “I won't forget it in a hurry,” the winner continues. After a few weeks of fermentation and maturation, it is now ready to convince beer connoisseurs and the curious throughout Germany. The Belgian Blonde Ale celebrated its premiere in the Störtebeker LIVE adventure tour, in which Florian told us more about the brewing day and his time so far as German hobby brewing champion.

The feedback from the audience that evening was outstanding: “Harmonious all round!”, “Simply delicious” and “Well-deserved winning beer!” were just some of the comments in the chat.

If you want to taste the Belgian Blonde Ale for yourself, the limited brewing specialty is now available in the Störtebeker online store and in numerous outlets throughout Germany.
