Dr. Stefan Schmitz becomes additional Managing Director as of July 1 / Stephan Fahrig responsible for digitalization area
Dr. Stefan Schmitz (45), Head of Human Resources at Bitburger Braugruppe since January 1, 2019, will be appointed Managing Director Human Resources and Legal Affairs as of July 1, 2021. Stephan Fahrig, to whom Human Resources was previously assigned, will focus more on the company's important digital issues as Managing Director Finance, IT and Purchasing.
"In the past year in particular, we have seen the way in which the area of employees, which has always been important to us, and digital development have once again gained in importance for our company," explains Dr. Dieter Heuskel, Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of the Bitburger Group of Companies. The company has now taken this dynamic development into account with the appointment of its own Managing Director Human Resources as well as the additional responsibility for digitalization in the Finance and IT division within the management board.
The Bitburger Braugruppe management board includes Axel Dahm, spokesman for the management board and responsible for sales/marketing and strategy, Jan Niewodniczanski (technology and environment), Stephan Fahrig (finance, IT and purchasing) and Dr. Stefan Schmitz (human resources and legal).
Dr. Schmitz is a lawyer who has held various management positions in the Bitburger Group since 2007. He lives in Trier with his wife and three children.
