Borco: Glengoyne Single Malt Scotch Whisky opens the third and final chapter of the Legacy series with new bottling
News General news
Highland single malt whisky Glengoyne is launching "Chapter Three", the third bottling in its limited edition "Legacy" series, which is available now in selected retail, specialist and premium department stores in Germany for an RRP of 69 euros (0.7l). This concludes the series dedicated to the unique stories of the people who have shaped the distillery over the past two centuries. So does the third chapter, which tells the story of Sir Arthur John Tedder.
He worked in the distillery's tax department and is credited with making a significant contribution to Glengoyne's style of whisky as it is known today. Sir Tedder lived in the distillery's Customs House, a beautiful two-storey building now used for malt reception, between 1889 and 1893.
Bottled at 48% vol. and not cold-filtered, Chapter Three exudes a pleasant hint of creamy vanilla, followed by spicy cinnamon aromas and notes of mixed berries that run through an indulgent layer of apple strudel and juicy pears.
The final bottling in the three-part series features a rich, fruity flavour profile with notes of sultanas and spiced buns that slowly transition into the silky caramel flavours of tarte tatin and creamy sherry. The finish is light and fruity, deepening with notes of pineapple, dried fruit, dark chocolate and lingering spice.
Barbara Turing, Glengoyne Brand Manager, comments, "Each chapter of our Legacy Series represents an important part of our bold and unique story, and as the final chapter, consumers:inside have the unique opportunity to complete the set of this limited edition bottling. "Chapter Three" is very special and a tribute to Sir Tedder and the important role he played in the creation of Glengoyne's unapologetic whisky excellence. Glengoyne Distillery is renowned for its dedication to craft and time, which has made us an award-winning Scotch whisky, and for that we owe so much to Sir Tedder."
