The Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei presents its second whisky from the “Meisterstück” line. The rye whisky matured for nine years in oak barrels and was then refined for a year in port wine barrels. From October 24, this special edition, aged for ten years, will be available. The number of bottles is limited to 1,200.
It's going to be masterful again! The grain specialists from Nordhausen have created their second “Meisterstück” whisky: A rye whisky in which the fine whisky distillate developed its very own, incomparable, rye-like characteristics within a decade. The distillate was matured in oak barrels for nine years and then finished in port wine barrels for a year. The result: mahogany-colored, soft, round and harmonious in taste. A rye whisky with 45% vol. produced in the true Nordhausen distilling tradition.
Expertise since 1507 - masterfully implemented
This distilling tradition has existed since 1507, which is how long grain has been distilled in Nordhausen am Harz. Thanks to this expertise - and the time that the master distillers give their distillates to mature - the best grain and whisky distillates are created here. Through barrel ageing and the exchange with the wood, the spirits become rounder and milder in taste from day to day and acquire their unique note and unmistakable coloring. This is also proven by the “Meisterstück” Whisky No. 2 with its very special flavor composition, which is reminiscent of red fruit compote, paired with the elegance of a finely balanced roast and wood bouquet.
“The finish is long and soft, with notes of butterscotch on the palate, rounded off by a fine pepper note. A true masterpiece,” enthuses Thomas Müller, head of the traditional distillery in Nordhausen. Only 1,200 bottles in the exclusive glass bottle will be available to connoisseurs of the finest premium spirits from October 24, 2024. Each bottle is bottled, corked, labeled with love and care and numbered by hand in the traditional Echter Nordhausen distillery. A one-off of a special kind and an attractive eye-catcher in any home bar.
Due to its exclusivity, the traditional distillery, the home of Echter Nordhäuser, only offers the “Meisterstück” whisky in its own Echter Nordhäuser Hofshop (Grimmelallee 11, Nordhausen/Harz) and in the online store www.traditionsbrennerei.de. The recommended retail price is 69.00 euros incl. VAT for the 0.7l bottle. If you would like to visit the store of the traditional distillery in person, you can combine your visit with a guided tour including a tasting.
