Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei presents the first barrel-aged fruit brandies

The grain specialists from Nordhausen have successfully established various premium grain brandies in recent years. The 1507 line - the year in which the art of distilling was first mentioned in Nordhausen - stands for outstanding premium spirits, combined with expert craftsmanship, which are in great demand among connoisseurs. Now, for the first time, the experts at Echter Nordhäuser Traditionsbrennerei are presenting fruit brandies that have been allowed to mature in wooden barrels: The barrel-aged Williams pear brandy with the fine taste of pear, vanilla and caramel as well as a slight wooden barrel note. The same is true of the apricot fruit brandy, which also impresses with light notes of juicy apricots (apricot in Austria), vanilla and almonds.

The perfect timing
Both fruit brandy distillates matured for eight months in single malt wooden barrels. Then it was the perfect time for the master distiller and barrel manager of the Echter Nordhäuser traditional distillery to take the distillates out of the barrel. "With barrel-aged spirits, it depends on the experience of the master distiller to find the right amount of time to store the distillates in the barrel. This is the only way to achieve the perfect result and a premium spirit like ours," explains Thomas Müller, head of the traditional distillery in Nordhausen. 250 bottles each of Edition No 5.1 (barrel-aged Williams pear fruit brandy) and Edition No 5.2 (apricot fruit brandy) are now available. Each bottle is bottled, corked, labeled with love and care and numbered by hand in the traditional Echter Nordhäuser distillery. A special kind of premium fruit brandy that is also visually impressive.

Due to its exclusivity, the traditional distillery, the home of Echter Nordhäuser, only offers the 1507 line in its own Echter Nordhäuser Hofshop (Grimmelallee 11, Nordhausen/Harz) and in the online store www.traditionsbrennerei.de. The recommended retail price is 39 euros incl. VAT for the 0.5l bottle. Lovers of premium spirits and premium fruit brandies should be quick, as the first two 1507 editions are already sold out and only a few bottles of number 3 and number 4 are still available.
