Feldmuehle: Investments postponed due to political uncertainties

The manufacturer of coated label papers and flexible packaging papers Feldmuehle had announced concrete investment plans for the company in 2022, which were to be made in the areas of sustainability and energy.
The company is now refraining from this for the time being, explained Martin Balasus, CDU member of the state parliament for the Pinneberg-Elbmarschen constituency, after a joint meeting with Claus Ruhe Madsen, Minister of Economic Affairs for the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and the company.
According to Managing Director Heiner Kayser, Feldmuehle wanted to invest several million euros in the company in 2024 in order to make the paper mill fit for the future. "On the way to climate neutrality, we have of course also considered other major investments in alternative energy sources, but these have had to be postponed due to the uncertainties caused by the federal government," he told EUWID.
