Flowers would buy vodka

A bouquet of flowers is one of the most beautiful gifts, but it has a limited lifespan. But you can extend the durability a little.

There are a few tricks to do this:
- Use a clean flower vase.

- After transport, the ends of the stems are usually dried. Cut off about 2 cm of the stems before placing the bouquet in the vase. Then an optimal water supply is possible again.

- Remove all leaves up to the edge of the vase. Otherwise they will rot in the water.

- Place the flowers in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight, draughts, in the immediate vicinity of a heater or next to a fruit bowl.

- A teaspoon of vodka per litre of flower water ensures that the flowers stay fresh longer. This works because the alcohol kills the bacteria in the water that are normally responsible for rapid wilting.
