Gaffel Wiess successfully establishes itself as the Rhenish alternative to the Helles beer style

The Rhenish alternative to the beer style Helles is Gaffel Wiess. Until the middle of the last century, unfiltered Wiess was the national drink of the people of Cologne and thus the forefather of Kölsch.

Gaffel Wiess is a success story: demand is high both in the restaurant trade and in the retail trade. "With Gaffel Wiess, we are serving the trend towards mild, light beers," says Thomas Deloy, Head of Marketing and PR at Gaffel. "In addition, the variety is firmly rooted in the Rhineland and, as a regional speciality, is something very special."

Gaffel Wiess has similar parameters to its bottom-fermented counterpart Helles. It is drinkable, mild and is discreetly hopped. The top-fermented brewing method and natural cloudiness differ from the Helles. As a result, Wiess develops a full-bodied character.

This beer speciality is a real taste experience all year round. The naturally cloudy top-fermented beer is drunk in local pubs, clubs and breweries. Gaffel Wiess is served in 0.3-litre mugs and is therefore ideal for Rhenish beer gardens.

In the trade, the light blue, pastel-coloured crates and the trendy 0.33l Euro bottle attract a lot of attention. In addition, there are three different crown cork motifs to encourage collecting. Gaffel Wiess is also selling like hot cakes in the many kiosks.
