Fit for drinking water

In order to ensure drinking water quality in the long term, technical and hygienic requirements are becoming increasingly stringent. New advanced training courses, which are now required as a result of the EU Drinking Water Directive, are now being offered by the water treatment specialist Grünbeck for drinking water installation specialists throughout Germany.

Grünbeck is implementing European requirements from the EU Drinking Water Directive at an early stage in cooperation with the German Association of Building Services Engineers (BTGA), the German Association of Companies in the Gas and Water Industry (figawa) and the German Central Association for Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning (ZVSHK). According to Directive 2020/2184, drinking water installations must be subjected to a risk assessment in the future. Among others, plumbers and other experts for drinking water installations are confronted with this.

To prepare them for this, the three associations have developed the nationally standardised further training plan "Fit for Drinking Water" especially for experts who deal with drinking water installations in different disciplines. The first module, "Hygiene", deals with hygienically important aspects that must be considered in the planning, construction and operation of drinking water installations. In order to address the different target groups as individually as possible, this module is divided into three courses - one each for the areas of "planning, execution and construction supervision", "construction and maintenance" and "operation".

Grünbeck cooperates intensively with the professional associations and offers training courses both at the company's headquarters in Höchstädt and at the 25 plant representatives and branch offices spread throughout Germany.
