Who we are:
What was founded almost 100 years ago as a blacksmith shop is now an industry-recognized think tank for modern beverage vehicle technology as well as fleet solutions for the waste disposal and automotive industries. The Orten name stands for a high-performance, third-generation family business that delivers innovative body solutions and mobility concepts for the beverage industry with its 120 highly motivated and trained employees.

Priorities in the development work of the body specialist with headquarters in Bernkastel-Kues and a branch in Rothnaußlitz near Bautzen are more loading volume through durable lightweight construction as well as constructive and ergonomic solutions for time-saving and safe handling of the technology.

Where we exhibit:
Trade visitors to Nufam who want to know what synergies there are between classic vehicle construction and innovative electrical know-how will get competent answers from Managing Director Robert E. Orten and his team of consultants at ORTEN Fahrzeugbau GmbH in Halls 1, 2 and on the open-air site. Only a narrow corridor in the exhibition hall separates the two business areas of the traditional exhibitor.
At booth B 223, vehicles with classic bodies are on display. Directly opposite, at booth A 221, the focus is on the future topic of electromobility for inner-city traffic and on conversion options from diesel to electric.

What we show:
Customized city logistics
Two vehicles exhibited by ORTEN at Nufam 2021 feature swing wall bodies. One is a KettLiner Solo beverage truck on a Mercedes-Benz chassis (Hall 2, Booth B 223), the other is a SubLiner Solo beverage truck on a Mercedes-Benz chassis (outdoor area near Hall 2).
Both the KettLiner as an over-roof swivel-wall body and the SubLiner with an under-roof swivel-wall body are ready for loading in seconds with just a flick of the wrist and feature certified load securing.

A typical city distributor body from ORTEN can be seen in Hall 1, Stand A 130 on the Iveco stand. It is the CityLifter on Iveco chassis with sliding tarpaulin body, which is also certified for the transport of keg beer with SafeServer Simply technology.
Top arguments for the models presented include robust precision mechanics, hardly any roof protrusions, no center stanchions and low loading sills.
In the case of the SafeServer body, the main arguments are fast opening, double-row load securing, and low-maintenance and durable technology. The sliding panels swing away from the load when opening and avoid colliding with the load.

Electric "Gazelles
As a recognized "pioneer" in the conversion from combustion to electric drives, ORTEN Electric-Trucks relies on proven in-house vehicle technology and exclusive cooperation with EFA-S Elektrofahrzeuge Stuttgart GmbH.

With the slogan "Feel the change ... and make the world a little bit better", ORTEN Electric-Trucks primarily addresses logistics companies and municipal service providers who want to make their fleets "climate-friendly".
In the comfortable ambience of a lounge, "electrifying" solutions for different industries will be presented and individual adaptations discussed at the Nufam in Karlsruhe.

No less than two vehicle models offered by ORTEN for sustainable city logistics will be presented in Hall 2, at Stand A 221, as well as on the open-air site. One of the exhibits is called "CityCooler E 35" and features a deep-freeze box body with an efficient carrier refrigeration unit. Here, the cooling unit is fed from the main battery of the electric vehicle. With a payload of around 1000 kg, ranges of up to 200 km can be achieved - thanks to powerful and reliable (LFP) lithium iron phosphate batteries - and a remarkable 150 km with the use of the refrigeration unit. By the way: Both the drive and the refrigeration unit can be charged overnight as desired and thus flexibly. Thanks to discharge, the E-Gazelle can be driven with a Class B driver's license.

Another electric vehicle that ORTEN Electric-Trucks will be showing in Karlsruhe is a Gazelle with a double cab for up to 7 people, designed primarily for municipal applications, or grassland maintenance. The E-Gazelle double cab with tipper body or flatbed is suitable for inner city deliveries and is the ideal sustainable all-electric transport solution for any building tradesman, landscaper, roofer or finishing contractor.

The Doka Gazelle features a remote-control-activated rear tipper with mesh body and trailer coupling.
Good to know: For the cold season, there is a parking heater with environmentally friendly bioethanol.
In this case, too, the vehicle can be designed for 4250 kg gross vehicle weight (GVW) and can thus be driven with a Class B driver's license.
For all electric vehicles, ORTEN supplies both the basic products and optional equipment from a single source and is the contact partner in the after-sales area as well as in the instruction of drivers.
