Vorarlberg's beer market leader reorganises business divisions and management level
The Mohren Brewery is restructuring its organisation and ensuring greater efficiency, flexibility and digitalisation. With newly defined business areas and focal points as well as personnel changes, the oldest brewery in Vorarlberg is setting the course for the successful future of the family business. Heinz Huber retires after 25 years as managing director and hands over sole management to Thomas Pachole. There is no change in the ownership structure.
For 260 years, the Mohren Brewery in the heart of Dornbirn has been supplying beer for all of Vorarlberg. Founded in 1763, the family business is one of the oldest industrial enterprises in the state and today is its largest beer producer and partner in the gastronomy sector. More than 160 employees ensure the brewery's market leadership every day. The brewery is now setting the course for the future with a modern organisation and a change at the management level - the ownership structure remains unchanged.
After 25 years as managing director, Heinz Huber is handing over sole management to Thomas Pachole. He will be on hand as a technical advisor until his retirement at the end of 2023. "The Mohren Brewery is in the best hands with Thomas and the team. As a regional, sustainable and family-run company, we live our values and continue on our successful course," Huber is convinced. He had been with the company since 1984 and managed the Mohren Brewery from 1998 onwards in the sixth generation. Milestones were the founding of the beer experience world, numerous product innovations and energy efficiency measures, as well as the introduction of the innovative lightweight glass bottle.
Efficient networking of all business areas
Dominic Marlin (36) takes over the commercial management and is also responsible for purchasing, accounting and controlling. Matthias Riener (46) is responsible for IT and digitalisation. The restructuring enables the efficient and transparent networking of all processes from purchasing to controlling. Günter Brunner (49) remains Head of Sales. The Human Resources Department, headed by Cornelia Vallaster (50), will in future report directly to the management. Andreas Linder (42), as head of the new Marketing & Strategy division, takes over other agendas, including the Beer Experience World headed by Bosse Danielsen (36) and the new Culture & History department headed by Karl Huber. Property management will continue to be the responsibility of Irmgard Huber.
Another handover took place in the brewhouse: with Tim Groeger (45), the Mohren Brewery was able to find a worthy successor for long-time brewmaster Ralf Freitag. "Mohrenbräu is the Vorarlberg beer - and will remain so in the future. We achieve this with ongoing modernisation, tried-and-tested classics, innovative novelties and, above all, thanks to our motivated Mohrenbräu family. Now we are taking the next step," says Thomas Pachole happily.
