The recipes for "liquid bread" date back to the early Middle Ages, it sometimes has up to 11% alcohol by volume. The Misereor Lenten beer is the only known non-alcoholic version of the Lenten beer. The beer is ideal for all those who want to abstain from alcohol during Lent.
Since 2018, the family-owned company Neumarkter Lammsbräu has been supporting the Misereor- Lenten campaign with its interpretation of Lenten beer. For decades, the family-owned brewery from the Upper Palatinate, the principle has always been to produce the best possible product in an absolutely sustainable way. This includes traditional art of brewing as well as the exclusive use of the highest-quality brewing raw materials from organic farming: whole aroma hops cones and the malt produced in the in-house malt house from organic grain.
The Misereor Lenten beer is perfect for a Lenten meal. The beer can be bought in many Denns and Alnatura shops or in well-stocked beverage shops.
