Pallini Limoncello is on the rise: the iconic liqueur is now the number one selling brand worldwide

The traditional Rome-based company is experiencing unstoppable global growth thanks to its flagship product Pallini Limoncello, with an increase in sales of more than 66% in the last four years, more than double the industry average, which in itself is already achieving exceptionally positive results: From 2019 to 2023, the category recorded a 31% increase in sales worldwide despite the pandemic.

These are the figures with which Pallini Limoncello is setting standards: in 2024, it will indeed become the world's best-selling limoncello in terms of sales volume and sales value, with a global market share of around 15%. A great achievement, especially as it has been the top limoncello product for years, with an average value 45% higher than the category as a whole. The markets in which this product has been particularly successful in recent years are Germany, the United Kingdom and the Duty Free and Travel Retail segment, where Pallini Limoncello has grown by 30%. There has also been significant growth in most of the remaining 80 countries around the world where the brand is already active with initiatives centred around the Spritz cocktail.

This strategic direction has triggered the use of limoncello in mixed drinks, a trend that is becoming increasingly popular not only abroad but also, surprisingly, in Italy. Limoncello is increasingly establishing itself as an aperitif, thanks to its versatility in the preparation of cocktails. Its freshness gives the spritz a very special flavour, creating a surprising twist on the popular classic among Italian aperitifs loved the world over.

"Pallini Limoncello is not only the top product of our brand, but since this year it is also the best-selling limoncello in the world: clear confirmation of the successful implementation of our marketing strategy", comments Micaela Pallini, Managing Director of Pallini and President of Federvini - "In the coming years, we will expand the brand even further in established and new markets and would also like to grow even further in the mixed drinks sector".

Made from the best certified lemons from the Amalfi region, hand-picked on this magical stretch of coastline, Pallini is the new limoncello dimension. As part of the preparations for the company's 150th anniversary in 2025, Pallini Limoncello is presenting new, eye-catching packaging that does justice to tradition and conveys an even stronger Italian flair.
