Brewery and visitor catering facilities to be built 100% with Bögl environmental concrete
Riedenburger Brauhaus and the Max Bögl Group are proud to announce the start of a pioneering construction project: the new brewery and visitor catering facilities at the current location in Riedenburg. Max Bögl, technology and innovation leader for high-performance concretes based in the district of Neumarkt/Oberpfalz, will use only the environmental concrete developed by Max Bögl for this project - a showcase project for the region and beyond.
Focus on sustainability
For the Riedenburger Brauhaus, which was the first brewery in Bavaria to switch completely to organic production 30 years ago, environmental protection is also a top priority for the new building. "We are delighted to have found a partner in Max Bögl that shares our values and helps us to continue to realise our vision of sustainable beer production," says brewery boss Maximilian Krieger. "The use of environmentally friendly building materials is an indispensable step for us to fulfil our ecological responsibility and further minimise our footprint."
Milestones at a glance
The ground-breaking ceremony will take place in August 2024. Installation of the brewing technology is planned for the turn of the year 2024/2025 so that the first brew can be produced at the beginning of 2025. Beer garden operations will resume at the start of the season in spring, followed by the opening of the new indoor catering area.
The design of this extensive construction project was based on a pre-check carried out by Max Bögl, platinum standard according to the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The Riedenburger Brauhaus and Max Bögl used this as a guideline, underlining their endeavour to fulfil the highest sustainability criteria in the construction process. The combination of traditional brewing skills and state-of-the-art construction technology promises not only an outstanding result for consumers, but also a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection.
