Saving Resources with Jowat Adhesives

Anuga FoodTec 2024 will be held under the banner of Responsibility. The trade fair wants to encourage manufacturers and suppliers in the food and beverage industry to work together on different concepts and strategies for the responsible use of resources. An important contribution towards that goal is provided by resource-optimized adhesives for packaging processes. In addition to classic packaging adhesives, Jowat will therefore also be presenting its sustainable product portfolio “Jowat Green Adhesives.”

The biobased hot melt adhesives of the Jowatherm® GROW range are clean and particularly environment-friendly in processing. In addition, Jowatherm® GROW 853.20 has a certified content of biobased raw materials of 33%. Jowatherm® GROW 853.22 impresses with an even higher proportion of biobased raw materials of 51%. A further outstanding characteristic of this adhesive is its very wide range of adhesion for the reliable bonding of also difficult surfaces. Due to its high flexibility at cold temperatures, it is also an interesting partner for frozen applications.

Sustained energy savings of up to 45% are facilitated by the hot melt adhesive Jowat-Toptherm® 851.99. In this product, the innovation driver Jowat has coupled a very low processing temperature starting from 99°C with a wide range of adhesion, clean adhesive cut-off at the nozzle and robust versatility. The low application temperatures make the adhesive particularly interesting for temperature-sensitive products such as frozen food or sweets. The MOAH-free hot melt adhesive also impresses in packaging processes of dry and fatty food products with a long shelf life.

Jowat will also be showcasing the two flagship products Jowat-Toptherm® 851.10 and 851.15 at this year’s Anuga FoodTec. Jowat-Toptherm® 851.10 is the product of choice for bonding e.g. coated surfaces. Apart from the high resistance to cold, processors also value the very clean cut-off at the nozzle of this adhesive. Jowat-Toptherm® 851.15 excels in applications with high restoring forces, short pressing times and high ambient temperatures.
