Scapa Orkney single malt whisky back on the German market
News General news
Scapa, the legendary single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Orkney, is launching its new range in Germany. From one of Scotland's most northerly distilleries, three new qualities with age statements will be returning to the German market exclusively in selected specialist shops from mid-November.
With Scapa 10yo, 16yo and 21yo, the trio is back in full force. The single malt whisky, which Distillery Manager and native “Orcadian” Michael (Mick) Swanney played a key role in developing, impresses with its direct sea location in “Scapa Bay” and its unique tropical fruit flavor profile. The unmistakable taste profile of Scapa is created by using the purest island spring water, distillation in the typical Scapa Lomond Wash still and maturation in first-fill American oak casks. The design of the bottles is inspired by the calm rhythm of the North Sea and life in the Scapa Flow nature reserve.
Michael (Mick) Swanney: “Scapa has been telling its own story of life on the island of Orkney since its foundation in 1885. The launch of our new collection of longer-aged single malts marks a significant new chapter in our history.”
