Over 540 exhibiting companies and brands, more than 30,000 square meters of exhibition space and foreign delegations from 32 nations. These are the figures for Simei 2024 (Fiera Milano Rho, November 12-15), the leading international trade fair for winemaking and bottling machinery, which is preparing to open its doors to the ever-growing number of international visitors shortly before the 30th edition. “We have increased the exhibition space by 8% and also recorded a 13% increase in exhibitors,” explains Paolo Castelletti, Secretary General of the Unione Italiana Vini (UIV), which organizes the biennial trade fair. This growth reflects, on the one hand, the expansion of the product range at the trade fair and, on the other, the expectation of a highlight in the sector, namely that of machinery and technology, which is crucial for the innovation of the entire beverage sector in particularly turbulent market times. Added to this,” Castelletti concludes, ‘is the increasingly consistent participation of delegations of foreign companies, selected jointly with Agenzia Ice, which include 70 US buyers - mainly from California - among the 32 delegations from all continents, representing as many prestigious companies’.

With the latest news and innovations on products and processes for oenology, liquid food, oil, beer and spirits, Simei puts the best technology for the wine and beverage industry front and center. The program, which is constantly updated, already includes around 70 events, including conferences, case study presentations and in-depth technical discussions.

New features for 2024 include the fair's foray into the spirits, beer and oil sectors with the new partnership with Distillo, the micro-distillery equipment exhibition, which will be present at Simei for the 3rd time, the first edition of the Beer Forum, which will shed light on the “framework conditions” for beer in Italy and will be organized by Luca Grandi of Birra Nostra, and “L'Oleoteca di Olio Officina” under the direction of Luigi Caricato. To complete the overview, Enovitis Business is back, the “indoor” exhibition specifically dedicated to wine-growing technologies and, together with Simei, the only international exhibition appointment for the entire wine production chain, from rootstock to bottle. Last but not least, the competition for technological innovation in the sector, the “Lucio Mastroberardino” Innovation Challenge, will also be taking place this year with the “Technology Innovation Award”, “New Technology” and “Green Innovation Award”.
