The Future of Hospitality: Successful debut of the SIP Open House in Berlin
News General news
The premiere of the SIP Open House on March 10 in Berlin was a complete success: 150 people from the hospitality industry came to Fabrik23 in Berlin-Wedding to discuss the future of the industry. SIP, the hospitality community of Pernod Ricard, created a platform for inspiration, exchange and innovation with the event - with top-class speakers, forward-looking topics and a unique atmosphere.

“The response was overwhelming. We were fully booked a good two weeks before the event and still had a few people on the waiting list. The SIP Open House has shown how important real encounters and joint discussions are for the future of the industry,” says host Christian Balke from Pernod Ricard Germany.
Jörg Meyer (Le Lion Hamburg), Beate Hindermann (Victoria Bar Berlin), Sven Riebel (The Tiny Cup Frankfurt), Jan Scheidsteger (beyond gastronomy), Alec-Dominic Loße (Roaring Twenties Halle), Thorsten Beck (start-up consultant), Susanne Renate Schneider (AI expert), Maurice Melches (Spirits Bar Cologne) and Johannes Braun (systemic coach) shared their perspectives and experiences with the audience in intensive talks and open discussions.
In addition to the presentations, there were numerous opportunities for personal exchange, inspiring discussions and new contacts - accompanied by excellent drinks, music, Italian food and an exclusive “Dark Spirits of Tomorrow” tasting with Eyck Thormann from Pernod Ricard Germany.
“I am thrilled. Unfortunately, you rarely see events like this in the industry anymore. There were so many top-class speakers, it was really fun to listen to the talks and exchange ideas,” said one participant from the bar scene. “The exchange was super intensive and I learned an incredible amount - not only from the speakers, but also from the other participants,” added a participant who works in a large Berlin hotel. “It was kind of like a big class reunion - and so nice to see so many familiar faces again.”
The SIP Open House showed that the hospitality industry is facing major challenges - but at the same time exciting new opportunities are opening up. Innovative concepts, creative solutions and strong cohesion within the community are the key to actively shaping the future. This is exactly where SIP comes in: Together with the industry, for the industry - with a platform that promotes open exchange, shares knowledge and provides inspiration to break new ground.
