USA, CT: Another brewery may be coming to Hamden
News General news
Another brewery and tap room may be coming to Hamden, the Hartford Business Journal reported on November 22.
The Planning and Zoning Commission received an application from HC2 Associates LLC, an affiliate of New Haven-based C.A. White Associates, and Schaffer Associates, Michael and Anthony Schaffer and Susan Ryan.
Plans call for the main floor of the building at 2323 Whitney Ave., to contain an 8,000-square-foot restaurant and a 4,000-square-foot brewery, with outdoor areas and a rooftop terrace.
Developers plan to expand the main dining room by 540 square feet, and add a 300-square-foot vestibule. Also included in the plans is a 2,000-square-foot second story, used as a private party room or for extra seating.
The first floor would have seating for up to 278 people, including the outdoor spaces, while the second-level could accommodate another 160 seats.
The property would also have outdoor areas, called “beer gardens,” along with movable seating, fire pits and space for outdoor games in the warmer months.
The building, constructed in 1986, currently contains commercial space, and sits on .59 acres next to Freedom Park, on the corner of Dixwell Avenue near other retail shops and restaurants.
The commission is expected to consider the application at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Town Hall, 2372 Whitney Ave.
A 3 mile drive away, No Worries Brewing, is located at 2520 State St.
