The brewery and bar at 745 Taylor Ave., just north of I-670, opened in October 2017 and was the first sours-only brewery in central Ohio.

An Instagram post from owner Josh Martinez said Pretentious Barrel House is to release several batches in its remaining weeks to help support workers. He also said he hopes "another brewery might swoop in and save some of those remaining barrels from the drain." If so, he said, more Pretentious releases are possible into the future.

After brewing, the brewery's sours are aged between eight and 24 months in wine, gin or other barrels. It has been served at restaurants and bars and sold at retailers from Cleveland to Cincinnati.
