USA, SC: Legal Remedy Brewing Co. shutters brewery and taproom in Rock Hill
News General news
Legal Remedy Brewing Co. has made the tough call to shutter its brewery and taproom in the Riverwalk development in Rock Hill, the Charlotte Business Journal reported on June 14.
That 5,800-square-foot space opened in August 2020, during the height of the pandemic. It was located at 1157 Herrons Ferry Road.
It was part of the roughly 1,000-acre, master-planned development’s Town Center.
“In complete transparency, we have closed, relaunched and rebranded LRB Riverwalk. We’ve adjusted, pivoted and tried to adapt to continuing challenges, some inevitable. To say there were growing pains of a new business would be putting it lightly,” the brewery posted on Instagram last night.
Legal Remedy invested roughly $3 million into the venture.
The brewery will shift its focus back to its original brewpub and its beers — many of which have legal-themed names. There’s 24 taps with options such as the Pro Bono Vanilla Porter, Alibi Pale Ale, Lawdog Lager and the Barrister Bitter. The menu is built around pub fare and house-cured and -smoked meats, as well as locally fueled small plates.
That 10,000-plus-square-foot location is at 129 Oakland Ave. in Rock Hill. It opened in 2015.
"We will continue to create great local craft beer that you all have come to love, and hope to see you at the LRB Brewpub again soon," the post reads.
