Weiherer beers win at the World Beer Award
News General news
Our Weiherer beers won an unbelievable 16 awards at this year's World Beer Awards. 3 x gold, 4 x silver, 6 x bronze and even 3 x the award for the best beer in Germany.
Once again, we have reason to celebrate - and 16 times over! After Weiher beer had already collected a magnificent nine awards last year at the World Beer Award, one of the most important beer competitions in the world, an incredible 16 (!) awards go to Weiher in 2023. Among them are three gold medals for the Weiherer Pils, the Weiherer/Fat Heads's Grischbeerla and the Weiherer/Fat Head's Hopferla IPA. The special feature: all three beers awarded gold also receive the award for the "Best Beer in Germany" in their category. In addition to 3 gold medals, the entire Weiherer team is also pleased about 4 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.
Our managing director Roland Kundmüller is particularly proud of the unexpected award for Weiherer Pils: "Winning in the category 'Best German Pils' is simply incredible. This award, like all the others, is for our entire brewery team. We did it together!" The victory of Weiherer Pils makes the Kundmüller brewery the winner in the category of one of the most popular types of beer among Germans. More than 8 million people drink Pils several times a week, so the competition is correspondingly tough and the number of competitors was correspondingly high.
In addition to the victory for Weiherer Pils, two collaboration brews received the award for Germany's Best. The "Best German Session IPA" is Grischbeerla from Weiherer and Fat Head's Brewery. The same collaboration resulted in gold and the award for "Best German Speciality IPA" for Hopferla IPA.
Oswald Kundmüller is thrilled in view of the many special honours: "I, too, am particularly pleased with the first place for Pils and the unusually high number of awards for our great ales. It's great that the outstanding cooperation with our brewing friends around the world has been rewarded. Our special thanks therefore go to Matt Cole from Fat Head's Brewery in Ohio and Alex Bazzo from Cervejaria Bamberg in Brazil."
In total, the Kundmüller brewery is delighted to have received 16 awards that have never been achieved before, including the aforementioned three gold medals and honours as "Germany's Best Beers", as well as four silver and six bronze medals.
